Facial masks are now a requirement for all employees of businesses interfacing with the public in both Rhode Island and Connecticut. Additionally, the state of Connecticut requires that all residents wear face masks when in public spaces and businesses. The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce has been collecting donations of 100% cotton fabric and elastic and providing them to local volunteer seamstresses who are making masks for free and giving them to the chamber to distribute curbside from its office. More than 300 masks have already been distributed to small businesses and residents of this two state community. Please help us keep essential workers and our residents safe! If you have the ability to sew masks or wish to donate fabric or elastic for this purpose, please call Lisa at The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce, (401) 596-7761.
